Summary

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): (1) Coordinate the care of designated plan members by communicating with the member, family and providers to facilitate the development and implementation of a plan of care that will utilize the most cost effective providers; (2) review and approve referrals for medical services that require pre-authorization; (3) contact providers to negotiate length of stay, alternative levels of care or place of care; (4) negotiate reimbursement amounts with out-of-network providers when in-network providers are not available; (5) consult with Medical Officers or his designated to review hospitalized members and cases that fail to meet criteria for approval; (6) provides nursing/medical instructions, directions and education to stabilize and maintain health; (7) document and report results of case management interventions; (8) coordinates resources and expertise to improve members health outcomes; (9) serve as a resource to non-licensed staff in the department as well as other departments; (10) provide training to network providers as needed to support the Provider Operations Department; (11) attend continuing education seminars and in-service presentations to keep abreast of current developments; (12) maintain high degree of confidentiality on all patient information.

Required

Three years minimum clinical experience. Two years minimum case management experience (in a managed care environment). RN or LPN registered in Florida. Applicants must adhere to the following requirements: (1) Medical degree (MD or DO) and at least five years of medical training (Internal Medicine). (2) Must possess an active, clear physician license in the state of Florida . (3) Minimum of three (5) years of experience as a practicing physician, preferably in Internal Medicine and as a Medicare provider. (4) Must be able to work well independently. (5) Board Certified. (6) Practice experience and/or knowledge in providing patient care in the home and senior living facility environment is optimal. (7) Must not be sanctioned by the OIG.

Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and nursing personnel, including administering injections, EKG’s, phlebotomy and various other procedures. Delivers quality customer service and maintains established quality control standards. 1) Performs all duties within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant (procedures, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy). 2) Rooms patients according to company standards. 3) Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner. 4) Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies. 5) Processes appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion. 6) Respects patient confidentiality at all times. 7) Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms and sterilizes instruments. 8) Maintains certifications (MA and CPR) and quality control standards. 9) Participates in marketing events as determined by business need. 10) Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required

High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or registration certification required or the ability to attain the designation within 90 days of employment.
