Orlando, Fla. (January 8, 2014) – Orlando's largest privately-owned primary care doctors group has expanded with an asset purchase of Medical and Geriatric Associates in Kissimmee.
Dr. Mario Sobrino's
practice has been an affiliated practice of Family Physicians Group
since 2004, providing coordinated healthcare services to Medicare Advantage Plan patients under FPG’s Management Service Organization. The acquisition expands Family Physicians Group's presence in Osceola County to four locations.
"Osceola County continues to grow, especially with a population served by Medicare," says Dr. Nayana Vyas, owner of Family Physicians Group. "Bringing Dr. Sobrino and his team into our group will give Osceola residents more opportunities to be served in a patient-centered medical home
This new FPG office
will continue to be known as Medical and Geriatric Associates
, but will receive a renovation during the first quarter of 2014 to expand services provided at the location. It is part of a growth strategy consisting of traditional, organic growth and acquisitions of key practices throughout Florida.
"I've witnessed first-hand how Family Physicians Group provides complete health care to its patients with cutting-edge technology and compassionate physicians," Sobrino says. "I am looking forward to being a part of a leading health care organization."
